@cbj: You said it all. China operate more or less like a mafia, where they allow you to continue operating a profitable business, so long as they are made “partners”; usually the major partner. And, just as in a Mafia, they justify their takeover of your business, as “protection” against those who would “harm you” (i.e. protection against themselves).
