Anyone who claims that you can vet the “moderate” rebels doesn’t understand the dynamics of the war. Many moderates have left long ago. Most of those left are so committed to get rid of Assad – often out of fear what would happen to them if they loose – that they would ally with the devil himself if that would help. So cooperating with Islamists is no point for them.
