The settlements include $920 million of penalties for JPMorgan's London Whale trading scandal, which Chief Executive Jamie Dimon at first dismissed as a "tempest in a teapot" and ultimately resulted in $6.2 billion in losses. The deals included an admission of wrongdoing, which has been rare in past settlements made by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Anyone else find it odd that these uber-rich folks have to be coaxed into helping the less fortunate of THEIR industry? Aren’t these the same folks who whine, and kvetch about how greedy America is? Aren’t they also the same people who demand we all share OUR wealth with the less fortunate, by way of theft … err taxation?

Kay Guynes, president of Rolling Thunder Oklahoma, a national advocacy group for POWs and those missing in action, said some people "choose to put a period at the end of things" after veterans return home from combat.
