There certainly are major generational differences in outlook for those born before 1945 and those born after, on both sides of the Atlantic. The post-1945 generations have experienced the failure of the policies of the older generation, which has itself not acknowledged its own failures. Faith in Government is much lower among younger people, and for good reason.
