I agree with your post, but I would add that left wing liberals also hurt the poor by continually preaching that they are not responsible for their situation. Sometimes life isn't fair. When that happens you can sit around blaming others, or try to find a way to move forward. From my experience, people that spend their energy blaming others are really only hurting themselves. This is the part of the liberal philosophy I think hurts the poor.
