While the founding fathers were talking about single shot muzzle loading weapons I don't think that has to limit what can be covered. Times change and that's the point. A modern view of the second amendment gives you the right to buy and own a firearm, several firearms, but it does not implicitly state you can or should be able to own ANY firearm that is currently manufactured.
