They’re grasping at straws to save their scientific reputations. It’s unfortunate because the increase in CO2 is not a matter of debate and is a potential problem in and of itself. CO2 combined with water to produce carbonic acid. This will cause world-wide aquatic acidification. How serious I don’t know, but it clearly needs to be considered for it’s own merit.
