Aubrey Plaza, who is 29, carries herself in the lead role like a jaded 45-year-old who is mentally chalking off the days to her next weekend spa break; while Scott Porter, who plays the film’s frequently shirtless heartthrob Rusty, is 34, and may have spent around 32 of those years in the gym. I admit that quibbling over the cast’s ages in a teen movie is low-hanging fruit for a critic, but in The To Do List the fruit is hanging so low it could be nibbled by a passing caterpillar.
